Mmmm, eco-purchasings

Well, nearly bought (the website is playing silly bees with me):

People Tree jute cosmetic case – £4.50
My make up bags recently have varied. A while ago I was using a carrier bag from Selfridges and Co. After coming back from Berlin and with all my ‘liquids’ sitting in one of those free bags you get [...]

My blood hurts

My friend Phil leant me Tom Baker’s The Boy Who Kicked Pigs today, after realising this is the sort of thing I like. He did after all find a kindred spirit in the joys of Monkey Dust. I am maybe a 1/4 of the way through Tom Baker’s tome and it is funny in that [...]

The first one mentions the vegan sleeve I enthused over a while ago. I much prefer the vegan sleeve, partly because of subject matter but also the vibrancy of it. Part of the attraction and art of good food and things from the earth is [...]

However, I have heard that as you progress as a conservator (I always want to write conservatory) you become spectacularly anally retentive about relative humdity [...]

Mungo Merry Dairylea

I’m gonna come out and say it, at risk of being pillaged by music-types: I thought Over and Over by Hot Chip was irritating as hell when it got to the chorus.
However, I forgive these weird London blokes because of their song that is admittedly not new, but wot I heard for the first time [...]

I sense a disturbing new addiction:

Ebay.
Just bought these for £5.50(including postage). I have been coveting khussa shoes for ages but they are nearly always made of leather as that is the traditional material. I don’t buy shoes made of leather as I’m concerned for the use of chemicals in the tanning process, and obviously the welfare of the animals involved. [...]

Two things that are awesome.

The first is nerdy, the second was yummy.
Awesome Thing No. 1 – Me being allowed near historical objects, viz:

The object is a slater’s knife, used surprisingly enough for cutting and applying slate for roofs (I’m convinced the plural of roof should be rooves but hey.). Its forged from iron and has a wooden handle [...]
